Kauai Hurricane Lowell Business Recovery Grant

The State of Hawaii Department Business, Economic Development, & Tourism (DBEDT), in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii will distribute $2.25 million in grant funding to support non-agriculture small businesses on Kauai that have been impacted by Hurricane Lowell in September 2026.

Eligible businesses may receive grants of $5,000 or $10,000. Applications will be reviewed and approved on a first-come, first-served basis, with grants awarded in the order applications are received and approved until all available funds have been exhausted.

  • Who can qualify?
    • Non-agricultural small businesses impacted by the Hurricane Lowell in September 2026
    • Small businesses with less than 500 employees
    • At least one owner is a Hawaii resident and the applicant was physically operating on Kauai prior to September, 2026
    • The applicant must be current in state and federal taxes
    • The applicant was registered with DCCA and operating on Kauai prior to September
    • The applicant sustained material economic or physical harm directly caused by the Hurricane Lowell
    • Claims must be from unmet storm related needs not already covered by insurance or other public/private recovery assistance
